Upgrading your plan

Upgrade your CloudSignal plan for more connections, messages, and features.

Upgrade to a higher plan when you need more capacity, more team members, or higher SLA. Use this guide to walk through the upgrade flow, understand proration, and plan downgrades.

When to upgrade

Consider upgrading when:

  • You're consistently above 80% of your connection limit
  • Message usage approaches your monthly quota
  • You need more team members
  • You require higher SLA or priority support

Go to billing settings

  1. Log into the CloudSignal dashboard
  2. Go to SettingsBilling

Click upgrade

Click the Upgrade Plan button.

Select new plan

Choose your new plan:

Enter payment details

If upgrading from Free:

  1. Enter credit card information
  2. Add billing address
  3. Review total

If upgrading from a paid plan:

  1. Review prorated charges
  2. Confirm payment method

Confirm upgrade

  1. Review the plan change
  2. Click Confirm Upgrade
  3. New limits apply immediately

What happens when you upgrade

Immediately

  • New connection and message limits apply
  • Access to new features unlocked
  • Team member limits increased

Example proration

Upgrading from Pro ($29) to Business ($99) on day 15 of 30:

Days remaining: 15
Daily rate difference: ($99 - $29) / 30 = $2.33
Prorated charge: $2.33 x 15 = $35

You pay: $35 now
Next month: $99 full price

Downgrading

If you need to reduce your plan:

  1. Go to SettingsBilling
  2. Click Change Plan
  3. Select a lower tier
  4. Changes apply at end of current billing cycle

Downgrading may cause issues if your current usage exceeds the lower plan's limits. Review your usage first.

Upgrading considerations

Plan ahead

Don't wait until you hit limits:

  • Monitor usage trends weekly
  • Upgrade before you reach 90%
  • Consider seasonal spikes

Test in stages

For major upgrades:

  1. Start with monthly billing
  2. Verify usage fits new plan
  3. Switch to annual for savings

Team coordination

Before upgrading:

  • Notify your team of new limits
  • Update monitoring thresholds
  • Review ACL rules for new capacity

Can I try a higher plan before committing?

Contact support to request a trial upgrade for testing.

What if I upgrade and don't need it?

You can downgrade at any time. Changes take effect at cycle end.

Is there a setup fee?

No setup fees for any plan level.

Can I pause my subscription?

Not currently. You can downgrade to Free which has no charge.

How do annual plans work?

Pay upfront for 12 months at a discounted rate. Upgrades are prorated; downgrades apply at renewal.
