Inviting members

Add team members to your CloudSignal organization.

Invite team members to collaborate on your CloudSignal MQTT infrastructure. Use this guide to send invitations, manage pending invites, and control workspace access.

Prerequisites

  • You must be an Owner or Admin to invite members
  • The person you're inviting needs a valid email address
  1. Log into the CloudSignal dashboard
  2. Click Settings in the sidebar
  3. Select Team

Click Invite Member

Click the Invite Member button.

Enter details

Fill in the invitation form:

WorkspacesWhich workspaces they can access (optional)

Send invitation

  1. Click Send Invite
  2. An email is sent to the invitee
  3. The invitation appears as "Pending" in your team list

Invitation process

After you send an invitation:

  1. Invitee receives email, contains a link to accept
  2. Invitee creates account, if they don't have one
  3. Invitee joins organization, automatically added with assigned role
  4. Status updates, changes from "Pending" to "Active"

Invitations expire after 7 days. If expired, you'll need to send a new invitation.

Managing pending invitations

View pending invites

In the team settings, pending invitations show with a "Pending" badge.

Resend invitation

If the invitee didn't receive the email:

  1. Find the pending invitation
  2. Click Resend
  3. A new email is sent

Cancel invitation

To revoke an invitation before it's accepted:

  1. Find the pending invitation
  2. Click Cancel or the trash icon
  3. Confirm cancellation

Workspace access

You can limit which workspaces a team member can access.

All workspaces

Member can see and manage all workspaces in the organization.

Specific workspaces

Member can only see and manage selected workspaces:

  1. When inviting, uncheck "All Workspaces"
  2. Select specific workspaces
  3. Member only sees those workspaces

Owners and Admins always have access to all workspaces regardless of workspace assignment.

Bulk invitations

To invite multiple people:

  1. Send individual invitations
  2. Or contact support for bulk import (Enterprise)

Troubleshooting

Invitation not received

  1. Check spam/junk folder
  2. Verify email address is correct
  3. Resend the invitation
  4. Try a different email address

Invitation expired

  1. Cancel the old invitation
  2. Send a new invitation
  3. New link will be active for 7 days

Wrong role assigned

  1. After member joins, go to team settings
  2. Change their role from the dropdown
  3. Changes take effect immediately
